Need Help from L owners on 351. Please!

Hey all I'm new to this forum and it seems like you're the only ones who can help me.

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot. If so, someone direct me.

I have a 90 Bronco that I am adding some parts to. It has a 351w and E4od. I am continuously being told that I need to convert to MAF and that SD won't work at all. I have seen and am reading up on what you all have done with SD and am looking for a cheaper alternative to MAF. Any help would be seriously appreciated so I can get the ball rolling on this.

I have never used GT-40p heads that have been drilled, ported, valves lapped, and bowls shaped. I am planning on using Ford Racing Headers but I don't have the PN with me right now, and I haven't purchased them yet.

I have a Crane 444232 Cam kit.

I am looking to use either an Eddy Truck performer 5.8 intake set up, or GT40 set up. The guy doing my heads says he will port match at a good price.

I have a 4.56 gears for the front and rear as well as a Detroit Locker for the rear. And i am in talks right now with Paul (punisher) to purchase one of his valve bodies.

I am under the impression that 24lb injectors will be suffiecient for this build, I haven't purchased any yet.

I'm not looking to build a 500hp beast, I just want a motor with go that will compare or surpass todays trucks. I love my Bronco.

Where can I go with the SD?? Would a Tweecer be of assistance?? Is anyone willing to help me with this, if SD will work??

Am I on track with 24 lb injectors?? If not, what do I need? And if so, are there any supporting fuel modifications that are necessary?? I was under the impression that 24s will work with the stock system.

How is my parts combo??? Are there any parts on this that won't click?? Does anyone have any advice on this cam?? Maybe (an)other(s) cam(s)???

I have waaaay to many different stories on what direction I can take with this. This forum seems to be filled with a lot of real knowledge so I hope you'll help me out. This is my first engine build. Like I say, I'm not lookin for a psycho motor, and I'm on a budget. MAF will crush my budget. I'm willing to get rid of/replace things if necessary, so pppppllleeeaaassseee offer some advice!!!!!

Hopefully I didn't forget anything.

THANKS!!!!!!! -Mike

I don't see any need for larger injectors on a rather stock motor. You won't max the 19lbs out with what your planning to do.

There is allot of guys here that are still using SD and making plenty of power, but Tweecer is allways a good choice.

Good luck

I dont know the specs on what you can run with as far as a cam goes. As far as heads and intake, gears headers thats all fine. If you are doing a complete exhaust system I would Go ahead with Long tube headers. A tweecer will be needed though if cam is anymore aggressive than a stock 5.0 mustang Cam. I run a Cam that isn't supposed to work for SD in my truck right now and other than an occational surge session it does great. I would get a tweecer along with your parts and Get a Hold of Giddyup for a tune on the tweecer!! Oh and I would use the GT-40 intake for the low end grunt
