302HO camshaft timing...

Guys what would you recommend a 2* advance on a 302HO camshaft? I am upgrading my roller cam that is currently in my 92 F-150 302 motor. I have heard that the stock 302HO cam has about a .8 degree advance already built into the camshaft so that would equal around 2.8 advance, would that be good for a 1/2 F-150?

Thanks,
Jason

Well it depends on whether you want HP or torque. Advance it for torque and retard for HP. Best results would be found on a dyno by making small advances till you can zero in on where you gain and lose peak power. Hope that helps.
