| Guest | Since the tracks are closed/closing for the winter, what mods are you guys thinking of doing during the down time?? Im going with the EEC-Tuner for the extra tuning to reach the 11s next year. In February I might be getting a PI stall convertor, too. These sound like good investments in the "need for speed" department. Whats on the adjenda for you guys?? ------------------ Rod K. | Guest | Humm, for the short term headers,3" X or H pipe(whatever we can get fabricated),PI converter, and some lightweight wheels. Thinking about some bogarts Hope that will give the extra little bit to get into the 11's. Of course there's always the thought of taking the 393 with the TFS R heads out of the coupe hehehe. ![]() Billy ------------------ NLOC #527 99 Red Lightning 13.58@102.0 94 Vorteched Lightning 12.18@111.56 90 LX 393ci 10.51@130.02 nat asp on 15" Nittos 93 LX 357ci 11.56@120.60 nat asp on 17" Nittos www.white.stangnet.com |

| Guest | For opening day, I will have the ported GT-40X heads on along with the Steeda 1.72 roller shaft rockers. I'm searchin for a 12 second timeslip this year. In the mean time, I've got a lot of work to do. As you can see I would like to open up the exhaust port a bit but am hesitant about going to the Bassani gasket line, look at pic #1. The thermactor air port is up there close and am afraid I'll go into it if I go into the port ceiling to far, what are your opinions. Also will get a good 3 angle valve job, these heads have about 3 thousand miles on them and come from Ford Motorsports with just a 1 angle job as near as I can tell. Heard that these heads pick up the low lift flow with a competition valve job. Might even go to a 1.6" Manley exhaust valve but that is more expense. The intake has been worked real well and I won't touch (pic#2). Also a little bowl work was performed by the previous owner(Mustanger)and the work looks real good to me. What are you guys thoughts on the CC? Pic #3? I'm thinking the exhaust valve looks somewhat shrouded and was thinking of relieving it back to the head gasket line, at the cost of picking up a cc or two and loosing a tad of compression. If I do the 1.6 valve I will probably do this. One thing though ,I don't want to upset the swirl action of the combustion chamber and I'm not sure if unshrouding the exhaust valve will do this. Any comments or ideas from any of you fellow drag racers will be much appreciated.
