| Guest | Chase, First things first. Take the cover off your rear end and check the fluid. If it is black and smells burnt then the fluid went bad. then look at the clutches in the differential. You will see Three little ears sticking up on each side. If they are all still there then you definitely have nothing to worry about. If one or two of them are missing look them in the bottom of the housing were the last little bit of fluid lies. If you find an ear in there then you need to see if anything got damaged on your ring and pinion. If not good then you should be OK. Also look to see if the little gears in the differential are cracked. If you do not find them cracked then the rear is in good working order. MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE FORD FLUID BACK IN THE REAR. IT SAYS WHAT TYPE TO USE ON THE REAR. YOU MUST USE IT. ------------------ Justin DiPalma NLOC # 555 Black 94 #437 Power Dyned, 13.703 @ 100.38 MPH |

| Guest | Yikes, That sounds bad! I'd still take the cover off and take a look. If the case isn't damaged it might not be too bad. You can get an Eaton Posi for around 350, new gears are about 150, then you'll need all new bearings(come in a kit for about 70 bucks, with shims and everything), also a new speed sensor ring gear(about $40), maybe a sensor($12). All in all about $600-700 in parts, don't know about labor if you don't do it yourself. Might be able to score a whole Lightning rearend for that, but it'll most likely break like yours did. If you go Eaton, you won't have that problem anymore. If you ever need help, let us know. Justin and I now have two installs under our belts ![]() ------------------ Laurence Weiler NLOC #339 12.78 @ 105.47MPH |

| Guest | Chase, Like Larry said, If you need help we will help you. We should be able to do the whole thing in a day. Like Larry also said, you need to take alook in side to see what got hurt. You may have even rouned the axles. This is why you need to take a look inside. Dont even take it to anyone till you look inside yourself. ------------------ Justin DiPalma NLOC # 555 Black 94 #437 Power Dyned, 13.703 @ 100.38 MPH |
