Post Droppin' in to say HI

How goes it everyone?
I just thought it was time I let ya'll know that I am still around. I've just been real quiet lately, there just isn't much to talk about with a dead Lightning Here's the scoop for those of you I haven't talked to on IM:

My engine is toast. Burned the #7 cylinder down, melted the sparkplug, pieces got in the valve train and bent everything all to hell, spun a bearing on the bottom end, and I'm hoping that it was the engine knock I felt and not a blown torque converter.

Truck is currently at the dealer awaiting the arrival of a complete new engine. Only thing they are swapping over is the blower. They ARE replacing it under warranty, but are not going to give me a warranty on the new engine. The dealership was pretty pissed at me for trying to hide my mods and so they basically told me to shut up after this and go away. Guess I won't be going back there any more

Lessons learned:

1. Avoid long 120+ MPH blasts with a chip and pulley.
2. Make sure that when adding a pulley you get your chip re-burned for more fuel.
3. Avoid long burn-outs because the chip overrides the factory rev-limiter (result: spun bearings) (I still don't think thats my case)
4. Wait till you are OUT of college and have a paycheck to pay for this ****!!

Thanks for listening to me rant...have fun guys.

Jesse

Well that sucks. But at least Ford is getting you a new motor. Maybe I'll just go without a chip and pulley. Don't need that hassle w/ another truck...

Hamrhead:

I don't want to discourage anyone from doing the chip or the pulley...just keep my lessons in mind. If I wouldn't have been driving like an idiot it would have been fine. I say get a chip and pulley, you will absolutely love it. Hell I want to put the mods right back on the new one..

You didn't discourage me, but I have to be honest, I too drive like an idiot (At times ). The Damn Truck already smokes 'em thru 1st,2nd, and into 3rd w/ just my few mods. I just don't want any trouble with the truck. My other one gives me more than enough.
