Question What EXACTLY entails membership?

Hi. I have been surfing these boards for about 1.5 years, and this is the only board of its kind that I go to. It is also the only Lightning club that I am aware of. Lately I have been debating whether I want to join or not. And Ive decided I am very interested. But I would like to know all the details first. Ive seen before what the perks and the things that go on with members, but Im not sure if its changed or not. The board is the only facet of the organization that ive ever seen, and there is only a slight dichotomy between members and regulars on the board. The board is obvisouly the backbone of the club, and I like the people alot and the help and conviviality displayed. But one thing I wonder about is how everything works out regionally. I don't know of many Lightning owners from my area and am not sure if there has ever been any kind of gathering or anything. I would love to be able to engage in something like that, and actually show some concrete enthusiasm with other people rather then just psuedo participation on the board. It's like there are a few places that just have a high concentration, and it seems they do alot together. And I don't know of anyone that does that around here other then some yuppie BMW people (no offense to any bmw owners, my best friend drives an M3.) Anyway I'm rambling and I was just curious as to what all happens when you join, not only in what things it entitles me to but how I would get actively involved in the club. Ive wanted to Join since I was 16 but I haven't really built up a constructive passion until recently. I would be delighted to participate with some people of common interest, so let me know what its all about. Thanks!

BTW...looks like things have really picked up since you took the Helm. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for your cordial comments, this club is like no other club you can imagine. All these people are up front lets sit down and talk people. We don't have attitudes, and try to be as helpful as we can be to all fellow members, and even non members, although we obviously prefer the member,j/k.

I had a young guy e mail me and ask me if you had $1000 and could do mods on your truck what would you do,I shot him what I thought was a good idea....two months later I got a very nice thank you and the dyno results on his L 377 rwhp,he was happy,so was I.I actually helped another, and believe me I have asked for help from numerous members, and all have been forthcoming, with their best idea of what they feel are the best methods...

The club is just that,we are a group or organized Lightning owners of all ages(thank God I'm not the oldest, but close). We exchange ideas, parts the works. When we go to World Ford Challenge 5 this year in St Louis,It's gonna be a blast, but I have things planned for all areas of the club no matter of the locations. We'll have meets for trophies sponsored by the NLOC and much much more.

After reading your e mail I think your convinced, come on onboard the more the merrier,
Jerry
