Thumbs up Your Club------The NLOC--Mapping The Future

To all members
I just have to make a point clear,I think it's been a bit clouded or misunderstood but you as members own the NLOC,it's your club.Dwight,Jake,Jeff,Rob,Nan, Robert and myself are working for you.We need your input to make the club work.Whenever a daily business decision has to be made I consult the above mentioned staff,we basically take a vote and act in what we hope is in the best interest of the club. Most of the decisions are financially related issues.

I'd like to come on here and say yes we can sponsor this that and the other, but I don't want to disappoint members buy saying we can do it all, truth is we can't.We have worked to line up vendor to help support the club be it via discounts to the members or cash to the club,we are also striving to increase the membership as I previously mentioned, and I will keep my promise and say each region of the NLOC will have support during 2002.The options are trophies and cash.I know to most of us a big old trophy is a sight to behold,I realized that when I saw the one for Street Lightning last year at WFC4 It was BIG,and since I cut a .186 redlight it's not on my mantle ,but would have looked good there..

So as we move towards 2002 we have / need input from you the owners/members of the club as to how and where we can help you.I don't want anyone thinking we aren't listening to your requests,we work for you.I think the addition of three vendors to the site attests for that,as ll as our continuing quest to answer any and all questions. And there is no back patting going on,we continue to stock potential members pull em over give em an NLOC buisness card and encourage them to come on board, the more the merrier.

I hope this has made it clear that it's your club.At the end of 2002 we can reflect back on what we did right and what we could have done better, but right now we need a simple concise plan, which you can help us formulate.
Thanks again
Jerry

Thumbs up

Well said Jerry!

I also encourge ALL MEMBERS, (read ALL OWNERS of NLOC) to submit ideas, (general or specific), give input, give feedback, ask questions, etc., etc. This type of information is invaluable towards the continued growth and strength of the NLOC.

Honestly Jerry I think rounding up the local chapters and bringing them into the club was a great idea. I think that is what a lot of people were looking for, a national presence, but a local group to hang out with.

I have always thought an NLOC only national get together would be really cool, but I'm sure the logistics would be tough.

Just my opinion

We could have maybe 4 big meets a year
Maybe NY,FL,CA,KY,Tenn, where ever just try to get something rolling.
We know we will have alot of the WFC race but would be to cool to have 50 Lightnings only at a track all day long with a drag strip and road course.
Of course everyone would like nice newsletters with trucks on the month in each issue and maybe a interview with people like Jason Brown,Marcus Harrison, you know the cool guys LOL.Sorry.
Nice install articles with pics and tech tips.
Maybe have some polls we can vote on etc..

Try putting anything together when you haven't seen but maybe 6 of the stylish Gen1 and bunches of them funny looking Gen2 and they are always going the other way so it is kind of hard to chase them down. Shy of putting an add in the paper for a get together I am kind of lost as to what to do. I would like to see a St.Louis chapter but I'm a loner not a leader.

I think Marcus had a great idea of including a road course !

As a really small vendor I'm not sure what I can do, but I'm willing to help. Maybe donate a prize or two ???

Hell I'll even interview Marcus

Raymond
Thanks for the offer, there is no such thing as a prize or offering to big or small it's the offer that is important.

I like the Ideas I'm seeing and think if we could get about four regionally located events that alot of us can attend it would help unite the club.I live in Illinois but I'll go to either coast for an event as well as north or south so I'm in.
I do understand some of the members can't attend some of the Major events, but that's why we need a plan for the regional clubs as well.
I think if everyone put their heads together we could come up with dates and events for each region.I know winter is approaching but now is the time to get ready for 2002.If your local track is still open see what they have on tap for 02 then see if it is something you would like your local club to participate in...We can supply trophies and awards,I have promised to do as much and those promises are as good as gold,so just let me know what we can do for you the club owners.
Thanks
Jerry

Good deal, thanks Jerry.

I like the idea of a few spread out events and they could be offset to take advantage of the seasons. That would make a decent vacation for those that wanted to travel. I know I could easily talk the wife into going to the Northeast or Northwest when it's 103 here in Tx during the summer

We can bash on mustangs and talk bad about them when we get together.Oh wait we already do that LOL.
We could even have a super street Lightning shootout.Run a road course or parking lot course one day then drag strip the next and have a over all winner.

1. You may have noticed from the posts on the forums that there appears to be a growing interest in road racing (small, but growing). If you can get 20 to 25 Lightning owners interested in renting a track, it would be fun day and it's affordable (IMO). I suggest that the first session or two be instructional. The remaining sessions could be the usual hot laps. Furthermore, the more experienced drivers could ride a few laps with the less experienced drivers.

2. Since two or three Lightnings will entered in next year's Open Road Racings events, it could be mentioned in club flyers or in an article posted on the home page. It is a unique and not very many folks know about it.

In the near future there will be a road racing section added to the site,Jeff is working out the details and format,he's the genius behind the board so I'm sure we'll end up with a quality section.
Thanks
Jerry
