| Guest |  CHANGE OF PRESIDENTS OF NLOC Guys and Gals This is whats going on with the NLOC,I know this firsthand.My name is Jerry Hart,and like all of you I'm die hard Lightning person.I saw several months ago that the club needed a different direction,Sal has done alot for the club,I won't bash Sal,but over the weekend a group of my Lightning buddies and I got together,one of my friends stood up and had a NLOC t shirt on,I said man it's been months and I still don't have mine.The conversation carried on and I said you know we need to bring new life to the NLOC...Well to make a long story a bit shorter it went like this. I usually post on the 150 board,had a hard time finding this board til a member gave me the link.I also post on SVT but not often. Anyway heres whats going on,first of all there is no NLOC ownership,you the members are the owners,it's a non profit organization,and I have hashed this out with Sal the past two days,we have come to an agreement that the club needs a new direction,and I told Sal I wanted to be the one to take it over,I have the staff and with all the L owners we can make it work,easily.I can already tell you that WFC5 will have a Lightnig class.I can also tell you that I will do my very best to direct attention to each and all of your concerns. The way i think the club will workout best is we need regional people to pass news in to us so we can get the newsletters out in a timley manner.I want to make sure we make this club grow,not kill it off,I love the L's and the people who drive them,I think were good people and we need to unite and be truly organized.I want to promote the club as a class act. I also want to make sure we get our shirts,membership cards all of the items we have been promised,this will come as an investment to me,but the money I may spend to get this going is mine,and I have no intention of draining the club.We will sponsor the Lightning class at WFC5.We will set up along the midwat=y and get new members.I hope we get big enough to have a yearly convention,and several rallies at different tracks,but I can promise you good things will begin to happen soon. I'm sorry this information came to you secondhand,but what I have stated is the way it evolved.It went from the talking stage to taking over in 2 days. I hope you all understand that this isn't a personal thing I want for me,it would be easier to sit and do nothing,but I care enough that with your help WE can get the job done. | Guest | Welcome Jerry, I hope you come to enjoy NLOC and be a good leader and president for it. I feel a bit wary, though, as you are a new person here. NLOC has it's own "clique" of people, like me, who visit this site and no other related one, including F150online. And so, maybe you would like to introduce yourself, where you're from, what you do, if you don't mind. I'm sure this would make me, as well as others, feel better about the situation. I was very saddened when Jeff had to relinquish the controls, but maybe we have another good situation happening now. You have our support. Now, I have mailed my membership check to Sal a few weeks ago and havent heard a word. Please make sure you get a list of the people who havent recieved any notification of their membership. | Guest | Jerry, Congratulations on the take over. I hope we can all get together and have a great club. I think the regional idea is great, and we need to get that up and going. If I can be of any help let me know. I also think all NLOC bussines should be done on the NLOC board and not f-150online! | Guest | Brian Heres a bit about me,First of all I'm 53 yrs old,have three sons,One that's a police officer(not always a good thing)and have enjoyed racing for many many years.I use to go to the local drag strip and watch Big Daddy Don Gartlis run his 8.00 runs at 180 mph and think man he's flying.Well times change,now they run over 300 mph.Racing and cars in general have always been a huge part of my life.I love it!!!!!! I worked for many years in the grocery business and was in the Air Force for 6 years.I got out of the grocery business in 1989,and went into business for myself,and still work on a part time basis.The thing I learned in business is you get out of it the effort you put into it.Thats how I'm approaching the NLOC I know if I put all my efforts into it along with all the members,it can only get better,that's why I wanted a change,I saw nothing positive happening for a long period of time,I paid my dues and I guess I was like many others,I never heard anything,that will change.People need to be recognized for their effots and loyalty. In the new NLOC everyone has an opinion,idea whatever,it won't be simply discarded,like all things should be it will be reviewed.All members who have paid will get what coming to them regardless of the financial situation I may find the club in,thats my promise and my goal. I'm no politician,I usually tell things like they are.I will do my very best to earn your support and trust. For all of you have welcomed me I want you to know I'm here for you,I'll listen to anyone and the only thing I have to sell is the club to it's members.. That is pretty much who I am and I hope that with EVERYONES help this will be the beginning of a new era for the Lightning community. | Guest | I agree the NLOC board si where posts will be made for the organization of our new NLOC,it will take me awhile to get some of the GEN 2 people to look here for information so I may have to post to both baords for awhile but nobody will be lrft behind,or in the dark, Your advice is well taken, Thanks Jerry |
