Question Predator AND flip chip?

A while back, someone mentioned the possibility of using a chip and predator together. This is basically how I would think it would work:
  • Predator tune is loaded in truck.
  • Delta chip is installed in truck.
  • Delta programs would override the stock tune (predator tune). Tunes on chip could be race program, nitrous program, valet program, etc. Predator tune could be street program. Really the choice would be up to the owner.
  • When flip switch is turned to the off position the predator tune would take over.
Has anyone verified that this would work?

Yep, thought about that also...Problem I could not overcome is that the progs we are loading are overlays in a sense. Neigther the Predator or any of the Chips are replacing the entire contents of all the banks...from what I understand. I did not pursue this route further since I really did not understand what was being modified in each tune and how each parameter in each tune could affected the system...Does that make any sense?
Figured it was cheaper to purchase specialized tunes than to risk injury to the system.

I'm doing exactly that, gives me three tunes to choose from at any time. Works fine.

Can you use the predator to program all 3? Would it matter which chips youre using? Can a predator tune a diablo delta chip but not a superchips chip?

SLVR is right, the predator can modify ITS file, but don't try to modify the chip's files. It will screw things up. A friend had his flip chip switch/LED go bad. He thought he was modifying the Predator tune, because the LED was off, but was in one of the chip settings. Results: a corrupted (screwed) chip and locked predator.

This works perfectly with the red chip, but there's a wrinkle with the newer design black, revolution, chip. With a red chip in the off position you can use or tune or install a predator tune. BUT, with a black chip it must be pulled to modify or install a predator tune. You can then reinstall the chip and switch (run) between the three positions, no problem.
