New Truck and Predator

Hi, my name is Bill and I just got a 2001 Lightning a few days ago. It has a #2 upper pulley, Flow Master muffler, K&N Parnell filter and I think that is it.

I just got my Predator and plugged it in at lunch and made a few small passes and have a few questions. I entered the pulley tune

1. I ran the data logging on RPM and SPRKADV and am seeing 24-25 deg timing at WOT under SPRKADV. I just read that it should be around 17? I didn't hear any detonation but am concerned. I have Wide Band hooked up before the cats and it was 11.2 at WOT.

2. Is there a way to store more than 1 file with this unit or do just over write it when you make changes?

3. Can you make program changes to the Predator without it plugged into the truck and then plug it in and upload the program?

4. Should I hook the Torque reduction back up and let the Predator take care of it.

5. Does the rev limiter cut spark or fuel?

6. Can you set up a valet mode by setting the rev limiter to 3000 rpms or the shift points to 3000 rpms? Its kinda scary to give the keys to someone to have any work done to it.

7. Does anyone have the data viewer software? I sent a e-mail to Diablo and have not heard back from them. I am going to the dyno on Saturday and would like to have it for that.

8. Can I switch to the Factory HP Tune to compare #'s against the Diablosport Pulley tune?

I have a 89 GT Mustang with a Vortech s-trim and have done all the tunning on it so I have some background in tunning. I have only blown 1 head gasket it 5 years with it . It has made 446hp/398 tq. at the wheels on a Dyno Jet.

Sorry for the long first post but I am very excited about this truck and would love to put down some better #'s than some of my Mustang friends on Saturday.

Thanks for your time. I will post #s ASAP

Well I got back from the Dyno Jet and here are the #'s

First pull with no Predator 356hp/425tq at 12.3af.

2nd pull with Performance tune 369hp/438tq 12.7af avg inc 10.1hp/11.6tq over stock. The data log sowed 19 deg timing

3rd pull with Pulley tune 369hp/441tq 12.3af avg inc 13.2hp/15.1tq over stock. The data log showed 25 deg timing?

I think I need to get a custom tune and make changes on the dyno. I did not make any changes in the programs on run 2 and 3. All runs were with 100 octane.

There was a 2003 Lightning there and it was totally stock. It put down 350/420

How many pounds of boost should the #2 upper pulley show on a aftermarket gauge?

ariz- light. the stock lighting comes with 8 pounds of boost. with a 2 lb pulley you will get a total of 10 pounds. not sure if you will be happy enough with that though, I am really happy with the 4 lb pulley but am contimplating a 6. either that or a ported blower.

Hey Bill you may need to change the plugs to the denso's I hate the NGK's. As for the timing ??? you got me. I think those numbers seem a tad low. I dont know why it would have lost power all was well here. Like I said try different plugs and maybe an open air filter. if that dont help you may have to get a custom tune.
