Question Preditor or Chip that is the question

Adding parts to the truck that reqiure a reburn. Was planning on a flip chip from Diablo with a cold weather tune and a warm tune since i live in OK and we get COLD winters and the truck is a daily driver. Now that the preditor is out and only about $70 more with a ton more tunning capability than a chip what should i get. Now i will admitt I am by NO meanse a engine or computer expert and don't know if i could even use the Preditor if I tried. There seems to be ALOT of chips for sale in the classifieds so I asume a lot of guys are going with the Preditor. I am almost to the end of my parts adding for a while, getting married soon. So my question is just get a chip and be done or get the preditor and fine toon my truck. My truck is out of warrenty so that is not an issue.
Any thought from you guys and what you are going would be apprciated.

CAI
Superchip
Valve Body

I am getting rid of my chip and going predator because its so much easier to get a "reburn" so to say. Tuners can send you new programs through email or whatever and you can run out to the truck and put the new program on.

As SpankDog said, it's the future of programming! Chips will still be popular, and many will still want the chip, but if the Predator and a chip is available for a specific vehicle, then I'd go strictly Predator.

As for using the Predator, I can tell you that installing the Predator is much easier and faster than ever installing a chip. The Predator does not give the end-user advanced controls that us tuning dealers have. You're not going to harm your truck by using the Predator if you're not familar with it right away. It's a very straightforward and simple install.

Don't forget about the diagnostics and datalogging that the Predator gives you! Something no other handheld programming device does.

Sincerely...

The diagnostics and datalogging part of the predator, is that locked on to one VIN or truck or can you use it on another OBDII Ford?

There is not anything "locked" about the Ford Predators. Concerning the custom tuning, you can use it on any 1996-2004 Ford Mustang, and 1996-2003 Ford F Series Truck, and it most likely will work on other 1996+ Fords as well. It doesn't matter if you have a tune on your vehicle and then diagnose another, it will still work. As for the tuning of more than 1 vehicle with it, as long as you restore back the original backup from the Ford Predator into your pcm then this will allow the Ford Predator to be used on another applicable vehicle.

I hope this helps!

Sincerely...

Sweet, so if someone decides to sell it later on then they will be able to. I think originally someone had mentioned that it was married to that vehicle forever. It's good to see that this was addressed.

Yep, you got it. I had addressed this a few weeks ago, but it may have been overlooked by everyone.

Have a good one!

Get the Pred. I have benn doing the burn and reburn thing for about a year and a half now. I just got the pred and I am in love. This thing rocks. I have a wideband hooked up as well. You can actually monitor and adjust the a/f. It is perfect for me. I just wish you can toggle the T.R. on and off.

Hey Jason, i might just have to take you up on that offer. I'm going to call James at RWTD on monday, or if they are open tomorrow, and order one. Need to install a 3# lower and that 90MM mass air.
I'm getting excited just thinking about it

I just got my predator yesterday, and I really like it! No more sending my chip accross the country and waiting for it to be burned just to find out that it was burned wrong. The predator is definately the way to go.
