| Registered User | Questions? my son has fallen in love with a restored 1993 Lightning for his first car. Can current safety features such as airbags (driver and passenger, front and curtain) be installed in this vehicle and is the cost prohibitive. While he is an extemely cautipus driver, his safety is paramount to us. Thankyou for your help. John |

The '94 and '95 Lightnings came with a drivers side airbag but I don't believe that cab style ever had a passenger side air bag fitted. The problem comes in fitting just the drivers side airbag. It takes not only the correct steering wheel with air bag provisions, but none of the sensors and electrical harnesses are there in the '93. To fit curtain bags would take a complete custom installation if it could be fitted to the cab sides. Without having the factory engineering for that cab style it would be cost prohibitive to attempt it. Short answer is no. Scott |
