| Need for Speed | Mine is a 350 watt unit from Radio Shack ![]() ![]() The parade rules are each vehicle must have lights and loud music is encouraged although they do not want any Santa Claus displays as "the real Santa" will be on the last float in the parade. ![]() Last edited by Pro71bird; 11-17-2009 at 09:56 PM.. |

On our parade application, I entered our theme as "Hollywoods Favorite Cartoon Characters", thinking Frosty the Snowman, Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, Jack Skellington and The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Grinch that Stole Christmas, Charlie Brown & Snoopy and any other Holiday Cartoon Characters would follow the overall parade theme. You can't go wrong with alot of LED lights and Loud Christmas music. Last edited by Pro71bird; 11-17-2009 at 09:58 PM.. | |

| Registered User Paid Member | How about running some of the Christmas lights off the electrial line for the trailer?? Seems like it could be done with readily available electrical parts??

| Black Rider Paid Member | You couldn't use the 4-prong connector, as that only has tail- and turn-signals. You'd have to use the round 6- or 8- prong outlet. You'd need to figure out which terminal was the ground and which was the power source. Of course, whatever you power would have to be 12v, unless you wire in the inverter first. Then you'd be limited by the size of the wire/fuse. Last edited by Nazgul; 11-18-2009 at 02:04 AM.. |

| Need for Speed | Hey guys, here's the plan. Meet at my house at 2:00 pm on Saturday December 5th. We'll have pizza & snacks, talk about final decorations, clean the trucks if needed and leave to Modesto at 3:00 pm. We must be at the staging area before 4:00 pm. We have plenty of time to decorate our trucks in the staging area before the parade starts at 5:30 pm. The parade judges are looking for creativity, originality, and the use of lights which is a requirement on all vehicles. The more lights the better and they encourage the use of very loud music. Absolutely no Santa or Santa costumes will be allowed on any entry or your entry will be disqualified and unable to participate in the parade. Yes, you can wear a Santa hat but that's about it. No entry may stop to perform along the parade route. Candy or favors may not be thrown from the vehicles. Anyone with questions should send me a PM and I'll give you my home phone number and street address. George Last edited by Pro71bird; 11-30-2009 at 05:04 PM.. |
