New Muffler

Magnaflow 12468 is gettting installed today.
We give my opinion (of coarse) later.

Just the muffler. i will probably get BABOLT's tips later. Well, as soon as I started him up, I could tell that they did something. (I wanted to get under the truck and check cause it was parked in the same place I left it, but I didn't) It is only a smigden loud than stock at idle, a little deeper, too. When I turned out of the parking lot an gunned it there was no mistaking that it was different than stock. LOUD AS ****! Someone had told me that in a tunnel at WOT the magnaflow sounds like the T-Rex from Jurassic Park, and he wasn't lying. Coarse with the window up you can't really tell, muffler competes with the whine. I like it alot!

what was your cost for the muffler? any idea of babolt's price on the tips?

The muffler was $263 at Midas here in Fremont. I know, how could I let Midas touch my truck you say? Because the manager there has a Silver 2001. The tips are $350.00 I think, try svtlightnings.com I think they have some group purchase deal.

I bought my magnaflow there too. I dont remember the part number but it's the one thats stainless steel. When I got it installed I has happy with the sound, but I read some where that after 1 k miles it would settle in and get louder. 3k miles later the sound is sweet. At partial throttle it has a nice deep rumble, and at WOT that thing roars. Very good investment. Happy trucking.
