| Guest | Are you guys gonna just go up to watch? I noticed it was a Regional Championship event, I don't think they let non SCCA members run at those do they? ------------------ Jeff Red 94L #1962 White 85 GT, Norcal Shelby Club Track car & SCCA E-SP Autocross Monster |

| Guest | Anyone can run in a "SFR Championship Round X"... that's just a regular autocross. But you do have to be an SCCA member (~$60/year): http://www.sfrscca.org/NewMembers/ I'm out of town this weekend... plus it'll probably be raining... But I'll go to most of them after this weekend. Anyone else gonna join SCCA? And try it out? |

| Guest | Dreamin are you an SCCA Member? I was but I've let my membership lapse and have been doing alot of Open Track events with NASA and the Shelby Club, oh and by the way we are running an Open Track event April 7-8 at Thunder Hill in Willows Ca. and an Auto-X April 28Th at the Marina Airport in Monterey .If you have time check out all the info at the address below. What days are you guys going to be at this Auto-X? let me know and I'll bring my toys up to have some fun. http://www.norcal-saac.org ------------------ Jeff Red 94L #1962 White 85 GT, Norcal Shelby Club Track car & SCCA E-SP Autocross Monster [This message has been edited by Jeff Dalbec (edited 03-07-2001).] [This message has been edited by Jeff Dalbec (edited 03-07-2001).] [This message has been edited by Jeff Dalbec (edited 03-07-2001).] |

| Guest | Wow... similar story here... was an SCCA member years ago, then discovered open-track events - forgot about autocrossing and run with SCCA, NASA, Touring Car Club, Green Flag, basically as much track time as I can get... but that's not in my L - that's my A-SP Mazda RX7. Since I got my L I've done a few road-course events with it... and I want to autocross it too... so I re-joined SCCA a few weeks ago. If you're in NASA... we've surely seen each other... were you at the Laguna Seca 3/3 event? That was fun until it started raining (not w/the L - IMO, NASA is too hardcore for the L.)And I'll check out the Shelby Club website... April 7 - Thunderhill might work! Can any car enter? Will I get dirty looks if I show up in an import or my Lightning? ![]() I'm going to Buttonwillow April 13... Wanna go? (might be a spot still available): http://nloc.org/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001064.html Anyway: Both Jeffs need to sign-up for SCCA and start autocrossing! I cannot make the March 11 date, but I'll be at the March 25 event. -Dreamin |

| Guest | Oh man!! I wanted to go but didn't have rain tires(ordered a set of Yok A032R's yesterday) and didn't want to chance it on Hoosiers. I'm gonna signup and if everything goes as planned I'll probably show up and play with both my L and my Stang. Don't sweat showing up in an import or the L to a Shelby Club event we allow all except for or Mini Nationals event where it's ford powered only.------------------ Jeff Red 94L #1962 White 85 GT, Norcal Shelby Club Track car & SCCA E-SP Autocross Monster |

| Guest | You would've been dead at LS with your hoosiers It was great until about 3pm... then it really started coming down. I was on Toyo R1's with a good amount of tread left... First lap, coming out of turn 3 (heading toward bridge)... driving completely straight, steady power... all of a sudden I'm facing backwards... then I'm facing forwards again, but in the mud about 4 feet from the inside wall... it was the fastest, most uncontrolled spin I've ever been in. It was like ice out there... I dont know if there was a lot of rubber on the track which got slippery in the wet... or I was hydroplaning or what. Scared the crap out of me... I came in that lap, packed it up, and went home. |

| Guest | Yeah I would have been up **** creek W/O a paddle on my Hoosiers. I ran last year at SPIR in the rain(cuz I didn't want to loose my 200 bux for not running). So anyways I was in turn 6 when I lost it and almost parked it into the wall. Needless to say I did the same as you did. I put it right up on the trailer and went home. Do you have any pic's of your track car? Here is a pic of me getting my Screw on at LSIR in Feb ------------------ Jeff Red 94L #1962 White 85 GT, Norcal Shelby Club Track car & SCCA E-SP Autocross Monster |

| Guest | If you take a look it says all cars welcome to most of the Shelby events. Open Track Open Track is a safe, low-key way to experience the thrill of driving your performance car on the challenging 3.0-mile, 15-turn Thunderhill Park circuit. Our events put a premium on safety by providing on-site tow truck, ambulance, and USARM professional corner workers. Passing is permitted only in designated areas of the track. Driver conduct is closely monitored by our track stewards to ensure a safe venue for everyone. Driving Instructors are available at no charge for anyone needing help finding the “line”. This event will be conducted under normal Nor Cal SAAC Open Track Rules and procedures. There will be four run groups of 30-40 cars each: Novice (Yellow), two Intermediate groups (Red, Orange), and Advanced (Green). ALL makes and models of cars are eligible except open-wheel cars. Drivers must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license. Passengers 16 years and older are allowed in some sessions. Our goal is to ensure that all participants get plenty of track time. For more information on run groups, tech requirements or Nor Cal Shelby Club Open Track Rules, please refer to the Open_Track_Information_Central page. | Guest | Yeah that is true but at the Shelby Club's Mini Nationals Event it is restricted to Fords ONLY. When the time for that event comes closer, check the event description and you will see that listed in there. That is the ONLY event that the club puts on that is Ford only. ------------------ Jeff Red 94L #1962 White 85 GT, Norcal Shelby Club Track car & SCCA E-SP Autocross Monster |
