I will get there though. I am officially saying now though that the answer I was looking for the front of my Lightning project is basically this. It is a change that many people would not know what was different but when parked next to a stocker it would be dramatic, and effective.

meh, I like the 73-77 grill almost as much, but 78-79 had much better steering and brakes, (F that power-ram nonsense, LOL) Just a nicer driving truck! I am biased tho, I had a '78 F-150 ranger for about 6 or 7 years, god I miss that truck!

No, it's from a local parts supplier. They order it from a major aftermarket autobody parts wholesaler. More than likely, it's the same one as LMC.
I got it to fit pretty good. I might need to drill a couple extra bolt holes in the outer scoop area to pull it tight. I'll see once I do the final install.
The worst spot was the flange at the outer ends. I clamped it down and it broke on one side. I had to use the heat gun to try and melt the crack together. The edge that fits against the bumper was really wavy, so I had lots of shavings to build up the back of the crack.

Yellow, Yellow everywhere. My God, I forgot how much I hate painting. The overspray is everywhere. I stood out the back door and could barely see the other end of the shop after spraying. What's on the floor is stuck real good. It's not like primer overspray that will sweep up. That was the worst of it. Just have the hood and cowl to do next week.
The hard part was painting them complete in one shot. I didn't want to paint the back side, wait a day and reposition for the other side. So I don't **** off the neighbours, I paint in the middle of the night. I started at 3am and finished up at 6.
Unfortunaitly, without the proper lighting, I couldn't see the surface well and got some runs. I planned on color sanding and buffing anyway, but it's a bit more work to take out the runs. Thankfully it's a solid color, single stage.
Now I just hope the color match is good.

At this point, you might as well just finish painting the floor!

Lookin' good! Can't wait to see it together!

*LOL* See I swapped the front over to a later Dana 60, swapped the steering, and I moved to disc brakes in the rear! So both of the problems I have addressed! *L* anyway, nice choice in trucks

On to the OP.....Wow...I think I am going to go insane. That looks great, I am simply in love. I may contract you to redo the front of my truck some day. That is just sick, and I also like you color. That color with the new front is just beautiful.

It's finally done.
While I was putting it back together, I had to do some rewiring. I didn't want to mount the 200 amp fuse holder and distribution fuse block on the inner fender, so I relocated the starter solenoid and other power supply stuff, below the battery, where the charcoal canister was mounted and relocated the canister to the front side of the rad support. It tucked in nicely behind the header panel.

I also had to modify the rad overflow bottle. I cut the stock washer fluid/overflow bottle in half and mounted it on the rad support, beside the rad. The washer pump was shot, so I omitted the washer bottle. I don't think I've used the washer for several years, so I ditched it.

I had to make up some stainless steel brackets for the hood struts. There is a 1/8" reinforcing plate on the backside and held together with ARP stainless bolts.

Nice smooth inner fenders.

All done. I ordered a set of Bosch fogs and just have to make up mounting brackets. They are the Bosch Scout fog lights, the same ones that are used on the Lightning.

Holy crap. That is the prettiest 92-96 front end I have ever seen. You sir are an artist. I am in love....

Want to do another? My 94 L needs that when I rebuild her.

It is a very slight different color though isn't it? Still very VERY pretty

Chris

Thankyou.
Yes, there is a slight difference in color. The old paint has a touch more green in it.

The truck looks fantastic. I had the same experience with my aftermarket valence. Ended up having to actually stretch it because it was not long enough.

Totally amazing. Who said you need huge million dollar shops & guys like Chip Foose to make amazing works of art. I wonder what you could do if let loose in Foose's shop?

OK, now you're messing with my dreams. Stop it.
Thanks everyone, I greatly appreciate it.
I finally got it finish up today. Got it polished up and waxed. I'm heading out in the morning for the Carlisle Truck Nats, so I'll let you know how I did, next week.
I installed some new airbags in the front. The old ones were leaking and I wanted to up the size anyway. But I had a little booboo when I went to buy them. I took out the lower valance on a stupidly high speed bump. Ripped it between the scoops on each side, close to the bumper. Not even a week on the road. I managed to melt it back together without messing up the paint, so it will do until I can pickup a Cervinis, hopefully at Carlisle this weekend. Glad I didn't have the fogs installed yet. There in now and it really completes the the whole package.
I hope to get some good shots this weekend. This one was last night at the local cruise.
