| Klaatu Barrada Nikto Paid Member | Shawn, When you get to the point where all the pieces fit pretty nicely do us all a fave, if you can, and post some profile photos comparing your custom truck to an unmolested '92.5 - '97.5 F150/F250. I'm really interested to see how much shorter/slim the overall new profile is compared to OEM. That full front photoshopped thing looks way more sleek.

View this user's gallery iTrader: 0 / 0% | Here's the truck I used. I hope 89notchcrustang doesn't mind my chopping up his truck. I had to stretch the pic a touch to match my truck. The pics are taken at slightly different angles. ![]() Last edited by Sportruk; 05-07-2009 at 06:24 PM.. |

View this user's gallery iTrader: 0 / 0% | Definition: Producing a smooth surface finish on metal by rapid succession of blows delivered by highly polished dies or by a hammer designed for the purpose, or by rolling in a planishing mill. The air driven planishing hammer is like swinging a hammer on dolly at turbo speed. With a crowned lower die, you can stretch the metal out to form curves. |

View this user's gallery iTrader: 0 / 0% | I'm still plugging away at it. The metal work is almost done. The body is basically finished, just have a couple little things to weld when I take the fenders off. I have the slot made up for the bumper and I just have to weld it in. This piece is for the filler panel under the headlights. It forms the lip for the outer panel to fit over. I again used wood to make a hammer form, as I needed 2 pieces, left and right. The same form was used for both. ![]() ![]() This shows how it will fit in the panel. First, it will be welded to the stock filler panel, then the outer piece will slip over it. ![]() Here's the new filler panel that will cover the stock panel. I could have just reinforced the new piece and used it alone, but the it was easier to weld it to the stock one. ![]() These are the inner support for the pieces between the lights and grill. ![]() Welded in and waiting for the outer piece. ![]() I forgot to take pics of the outer pieces. They are now welded in. ![]() ![]() I realized after the filler panel was complete, the way it mounts would make it difficult to reassemble without damaging the paint, so I had to modify the mount with a separate bracket. ![]() ![]() This is the opening for the bumper. It's constucted from 16 gauge sheet and made up of 6 pieces. ![]() These will match the opening to the grill. ![]() Waiting to be welded. ![]() All welded up and ready for the bumper. ![]() ![]() |
