Damn...I only have one question. Why the CV GM front suspension? I was thinking of doing something very similar but with a C5 vette front suspension. I figured the brakes alone would be worth it. I know this allows the use of the mustang bolt pattern but does it have other benefits? How is the geometry? Do you think this will handle as well as our stock suspension?

The Crown vic also has performance parts available, so stuff like brakes, stiff anti sway bars, performance shocks...stuff like that is all available. You just have to know where to look is all And his set up should handle better in theory the IFS rear, double A arm front, combine those with some performance stuff....good to go

:Edit:
You should look into boxing that frame in as well

The Crown Vic is also similar in weight to a Bronco, so it should handle the weight no problem.

It's starting to look good! At first it looked like the frame had to be hacked up too much. But with a little boxing it fits. Any idea how the ride height will be compared to stock? You may not know this until you get some weight on.

Yea it wasnt bad overall just being the first to do it to this model of frame.. The front is all boxed in now and have been busy gettin my sandrail ready for summer so it got put on the back burner for the past couple weeks. Need to finish making the stand offs for the engine stands..Will get pics soon.

more

Havent got much done but heres the progress.. The boxing plates are not welded to the frame for the last two inches towards the rear of the frame because I need to notch the plates to insert the motor mount stand offs from there..Been super busy with other projects and helping another buddy build his 95 excab f-150 into a prerunner..Also still have to notch underside of frame so the sway bar can sit up where it needs to be and not interfere with the frame..One thing I have noticed is that the frame is 100% stronger already and flexes a lot less now that the crossmember is bolted up in fact less than with the original crossmember..

Most Taxi's start out life as a police unit, easy way to tell is if the vin number has a " P71 " in it

Reason why I asked was the antisway bars and springs are much stiffer on the police unit. But addco's are even better still, if you can find them for a good price. Theres one on eBay for $188.87 obo

Yea I noticed the lower arms and the tower mounts are both aluminum which is different than what I have seen with most of these swaps..

Nice progress and good pics!

Nice progress and good pics! Thanks for being the "pioneer" and figuring things out. I'm still thinking about doing this to my Lightning. It's scary to start cutting the frame though.
