| Guest | How hard is it to upgrade the RAM in a dang computer? My system C has a capacity of a whole 5.84 GB. What do you think? ------------------ Adam B. 1994 Red SVT Lightning #2019 A few more L pics |

| Guest | Sounds like you need SPACE, not RAM. It's pretty easy to add a hard drive also, and they're cheap now too. $100 will buy you about 40GB. ------------------ Stevie-Ray NLOC #606 MILOC #21 2000 Red L #3460 DOB 5-31 ARE LSII BedRug Custom mats Clear tails Keypad Entry JL Stage II Ram Air 2001 Ranger 4X4 Daily Driver GOD BLESS AMERICA! | Guest | I don't know the difference between RAM and harddrive and space and all that. 40 GB would be good and what is that called?? What's the RAM? We need some room to add some programs for the business on this thing but it's only got a capacity of 5.84GB and I'm not sure how big the programs are that are going to be added. And the thing is slow as mollasses. 500mhz processor. That's all I know. If there's a way to look it up on this computer tell me houw and I'll get the specs for you if you need it. I guess I can get stuff like that at Best Buy and Circuit City?? I need speed! 'Course, who on here doesn't??------------------ Adam B. 1994 Red SVT Lightning #2019 A few more L pics |

| Guest | Hard drive space is where you save everything you download/install to. Ram stands for random access memory, which means programs put information into the ram for later use. It speeds up load times alot if you have enough ram. Ram is dirt cheap these days. You can get a 128 meg stick of memory for 30 bucks i believe, which will triple your memory size. It might be better to just buy a whole new motherboard/processor. You system is pretty old. I reccomend The Duron processor from AMD. Its inexpensive and fast. A 40 gig hard drive should be plenty.
