| Guest | First, you were in the wrong (street racing), how would you feel if someone you love was injured or killed by some IDIOTS street racing. It's people like you that give "hot rodders" a bad name. Second, it sounds like you may have initiated the "special attention" from the officer. Take some advise, never even think about striking an officer, they ALL really don't like that, posting your bond would be the least of your troubles. Sounds like you got off easy. Go ahead and *****, that is expected, but learn your lesson, and move on. I am not that old (30), I've been there, and I've felt the same way, but I have looked back on some of the times I got caught (I have had my fair share of tickets-all for speeding), 120 mph through town, 76 in a 35, 105 on the interstate (me and a Chevy), etc. I deserved everyone I got, I was endangering everyone around me, and that's not fair to THEM. ------------------ White Lightning #2252//'80 Mercury Capri-306 balanced, D.S.S forged pistons, TFS heads, Holley 750,Tremec, 4.10 gears, more... 13.20@107MPH//'01 F-250 White, PSD, 6 speed, 4X4, extended cab,//wife's white '01 Sport Trac I have a thing for white vehicles! |

| Guest | thats how street racing works you know your not spoused to be doing it .If the cops just let everyone do it you wouldn't need legal drag strips... everyone would have one in there backyard.I'm at the street races every weekend but i'm not one of the morons yelling cops and taking off and almost wrecking into ten cars just cause you might get a ticket.when the cops come I just sit there and wait till it's clear and then leave .the cops only go after the guys racing or hauling *** away form the strip. later |

| Guest | beat up a cop? lol that's funny. if you think you can't afford going to jail, think if you can afford never working again for the rest of your life because you have felony charges on your record. PS don't even lash out at me or others. you're at fault and you know it. |

| Guest | In fairness, I know that you really wouldn't have beaten up the cop. I'm sure that's what you wanted to do. Fortunately your common sense prevailed. Given that, you did the right thing by not acting on your anger. Whether or not you provoked the cop, I know that Cops like to be harsh on street racers. His cussing at you does not surprise me in the least. When I was at street races and cops showed up I'd always go away quietly. If the cops stopped to talk to me I'd always be calm and curteous, and they'd unleash their wrath on the next guy. I'm not going to jump on your case for street racing, for I've done it in the past and it would be hypocrytical of me to give you a bad time. I will say that I stopped street racing because the possibility of jail or a coffin became less appealing and more real to me. I think you were very fortunate to get off without a fine. | Guest | If you are going to street race, make sure the races you get into are totally spontaneous and be sure of your surroundings to be as safe as possible. This is the kind of racing cops are guilty of most of the time in their younger days or maybe not too long ago. It is also the type of racing you stand the best chance of getting off with a lighter fine because of that. Organized street racing, on the other hand, is what cops live for, and it's where they really shine in throwing their weight around. I'm also guilty of the first kind, though very few times with my truck. NEVER been a party to the second. Stay away from it, or if you just can't, take it to the track as was already stated. ------------------ Stevie-Ray NLOC #606 MILOC #21 2000 Red L #3460 DOB 5-31 ARE LSII BedRug Custom mats Clear tails Keypad Entry JL Stage II Ram Air 2001 Ranger 4X4 Daily Driver In God We Trust GOD BLESS AMERICA! |

| Guest | Grow up and wise up. Street racing is unsafe for all involved, racers and spectators as well as the general public that might be navigating down the same piece of roadway. Show respect for your fellow law enforcers. They are the only thing protecting us law abiding people from people like yourselves that disobey our laws. ------------------ 94 Crimson #2826 Born May 6, 1994 NLOC member #343 Team Powerdyne, 13.49@ 102mph Wanting 12's Home page: http://www.topworldmusic.com/greased/ |

| Guest | I street race to so I guess by what people say Im no good to. The cops for the most part don’t bother us, they let there presents known though. I know what you’re saying about wanting to beat them. I have been pulled over more times then I can ever remember. I have been nice to cops and all they do is treat me like sh!t. The cops that talked to me like a normal respectful human I gave the same curtesy right back, but if not I can give them a mouthful right back and have. I have actually become friends with cops after they treated me proper and even given me tickets. I hate the cops for the most part. Know one bothers me about street racing because it could be worse. People would rather see me racing down the road at mid-night with know one to injure or kill but myself then out blowin lines, shotin up, killing people or any other BS that I could get involved in. This is from a person who thanks God everyday that he walked away from an accident that should have killed him. | Guest | If it weren't for cops, the streets would be total anarchy. The guy was doing his job. I doubt VERY much that the man cursed at you. | Guest | I got the full-on cut-me-off, get out and start yellin' treatment back in the day when I was in my Maverick. I was cool, knew I'd eff'd up, and I listened to the cop. He ended up being cool after he calmed down and ran my clean license. Me and the 5.0L I was racing both got off with verbals only. I did get a CNI with the L that pissed me off, though. I got the verbal "Yer killin' babies out here" treatment from the young sherriff. I went to traffic court, defended myself and was honest. Should have been at least a two-pointer plus a fine, but I admitted I jumped the gas pretty hard, but there was a lake on one side, an empty field on the other, and there were no cars around (except for the cop that had just popped over the hill behind me). In court, the cop was really nice and I got off with no penalty and paid my $35 court fee and was the hell outta there. IMHO, you may want to be really nice and find out who you need to talk to about the whole gun-pulling thing and ask why the officer felt that was necessary. You may have gotten an a-hole cop that is new or may have other complaints against him. I respect the police, but I feel there are a few out there that don't deserve the respect they are given...just my $.02 PS: My truck hooks up like S#!+ on the street, so street racing the L is a waste of time. ------------------ Brendon Hale Black '94L #620 born Thursday, February 24, 1994 NLOC #662 Green(ish) '84 Bronco II-hoosiermobile '86 Honda CR125R MX'er [This message has been edited by MO Lightning (edited 11-12-2001).] |
