Post Car companies - Which one's care

Which Motor Co. Cares About the USA?

This was forwarded to me and it is very insightful.

After seeing a short news listing on "CNN Headline News" regarding Ford and GM's contributions to the relief and recovery efforts in New York City and Washington, DC, I was prompted to see what the other automotive companies were contributing. It is important to know which companies are there for us in a crisis.

I went to (the news, press release and philanthropic areas of) each of the companies' web sites. If the company had several sites, I tried to visit them all. Additionally, I visited the leading news and automotive sites.
This is what I have found:

Aston Martin - Nothing.

Audi - Nothing. Audi's web site states "Audi News:
Always up to the minute."

BMW - Nothing despite other press releases/postings since 09/11/01. Last updated 09/13/01.

Daewoo International - Nothing.

Daimler Chrysler (includes Dodge, Jeep, Mercedes-Benz and Plymouth) $10 million to support the children and victims in addition to other donations from their employees, dealers and suppliers.

Fiat - Nothing.

Ford Motor Company (includes Jaguar, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury and Volvo) $1 million to the American Red Cross, matching employee contributions to the American Red Cross and 10 Excursions to the New York Fire Department. The company has also offered emergency response team services and office space to displaced government employees.

General Motors (includes Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Saab and Saturn) -- $1 million to the American Red Cross, matching employee contributions and a fleet of vans, trucks and SUVs.

Harley-Davidson Motor Cycles - Donated one million dollars and 30 new motorcycles to the NYPD to assist in relief efforts and replace motor cycles lost in the attack. Harley-Davidson's own employees drove the cycles to NY in a day and a half and turned over the keys personally to the NYC Motor Division. Check out their website at www.harleydavidson.com for info and pi ctures of their generosity.

Honda (includes Acura) - Nothing.

"The latest news on Honda can always be found right here?" No press releases/postings since 9/04/01 when the release boasted "American Honda Motor Co., Inc. recorded its second best sales month ever in August." My search included: hondamotorcycle.com [other press releases posted on this site since
9/11/01), honda.com, honda2001.com, world.honda.com, acura.com and honda.co.jp.

Hyundai Motors Group (includes Kia) -- $300,000 to the American Red Cross.

Isuzu - Nothing.

Mitsubishi Motors - Nothing.

Mitsubishi-motors.co.jp site states, "The latest news about Mitsubishi Motors." I also searched mitsubishimotors.com.

Nissan - Nothing despite other press releases/postings since 09/11/01.

Porsche - Nothing. Press release with condolences posted on the Porsche web site on 09/12/01, but no contribution.

Subaru - Nothing. Despite other press releases/postings since 09/11/01.

Suzuki - Nothing.

Toyota (includes Lexus) -Nothing. Press release with condolences posted on the Toyota web site on 09/14/01, but no contribution, despite earlier press releases boasting that Toyota had high sales in July and August.

Volkswagen - The employees and management created a Foundation, funded initially with $2 million, to assist the children and victims with humanitarian help including medical and psychological assistance, rehabilitation and scholarships.

We have the freedom to choose which companies we make purchases from and I, for one, will make my purchases from and give my money to the companies that are giving their money to America at this time of need. I hope that you will, too. We can only hope that it is an oversight by the companies that have not made a contribution and that they will join the relief efforts.

** Go buy your Honda, Toyota, etc now. (Adam)

Just to remind everyone about MITSUBISHI and MITSUI STEEL.
These 2 companies are WAR CRIMINALS
Ever heard of "The Bataan Death March". After our men were butchered, unhumanely abused, and forced marched thru Berma by the japanese in WWII. The "lucky" survivors were sent to "work camps". These were as bad or worse than the Bataan Death March.
What really pi$$es me off is OUR government not only does not help, it hinders the TRUTH BEING KNOWN.
These Companies have never been tried for their crimes to humanity, nor have they even appoligized to the victims....NADA, ZILCH, NOTHING

Do vets a favor, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE COMPANIES

Just to add alittle to the history there, if we hadn't dropped the a-bomb the camps were on orders to kill every prisoner there when US troops landed on Japans shores. I don't remember the exact # of prisoners there but it was well into the tens of thousands. I guess it would kind of be like buying a car from Bin Laden or Afganistan. Funny because my little sister was going on about how we treated and put into camps Japanesse/American families during WWII. I told her about what we just mentioned and she said her high school teacher didn't mention that. There's always both sides to a story.

One other odd thing I just thought of. Volkswagen just gave to the relief fund and look at their WWII history (10+ million dead jews). Weird world inwhich we live.

Perhaps the United States stays out of the accusation business when it comes to warcrimes, because of it's past history. Remember that one of President Andrew Jackson's claims to fame was the "Trail of Tears", which cost the lives of thousands of Native Americans. Owing to charges of fraud and misappropriation of funds and supplies promised to the Indians in treaties of removal, the Government ordered Major Ethan Allen Hitchcock to begin an investigation. His honest and thorough report said that before, during and after removal, "bribery, perjury and forgery, short weights, issues of spoiled meat and grain, and every conceivable subterfuge was deployed by designing white men." The federal government decided not to release the report to the public.
The United States' hands are no cleaner.

Don't get me wrong, I love my country and I'd die for it. I also believe in forgiveness. As is mentioned above, doesn't the simple act of kindness from Volkswagen go a long way to "help wash the hands" of a country that so many years ago showed the world the ultimate cruelty?

Let's fight the good fight TODAY, in the here and now. Bitterness about the past will simply make us enjoy life less and die sooner.

Peace, guys.

Where Y'at DJANIMATE, Check out Who Contributes...Why to go Ford, posted by Doug Hoover. It's the same emale you posted. Then scroll down to the post with Snoops.com link. It has the current status of contributions & it doesn't match this emale.
Redneck its good to see others with long memories too.
95L2, your stories right but the numbers are off a little. It was 6 million Jews that died & 10 million+ total People that died in the death camps and slave labor camps. And I think vw just paid restitution for the slave labor law suit against them. If I'm wrong I know that Condor Legion will keep my *** straight.

Volkswagen NEVER killed the 6 million jews, hungarians, pols, or russians. Mitsubishi and Mitsui Steel did kill or soldiers in WWII thats the difference.
Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes should not be held responsible for their governments actions.

Gitchi, I know only too well some of our gov's sercrets. Unfortunately my hands are very dirty from my participation in gov coverups. I've fought for this country's right for freedom once and would do it again.
My "bitterness of the past" (as you say)comes from Mitsubishi and Mitsui Steel unwillingness to accept fault and our gov. for not allowing the Veterans that suffered at these companies hands to restitution. Thats right OUR government put a stop to a Law Suit by the ex-US prisioners of war that suffered at these companies filthy hands.
The same ones that cut your head off just to see if their samurai was sharp enough? Or beat or bayonetted you if they felt you were not producing enough or...just because....no reason.
I hope people are aware of what these companies did and are still responsible for. Don't you want to deal with a company that has INTEGRITY? One that is responsible for their own actions.
I hope you think about who gets YOUR hard earned dollar, thats all.

If I'm not mistaken Volkswagon didn't pay their own workers for building them during the war! And I add what countries have repayed the US for loans to them?

Remember what Japan said after the WW we might have lost the war but we will win the economic war. They took our Ideas and products made them for alot cheaper even at a loss till they got the market share and put the americans out of buisness.Such as Tvs,VCRs,camaras, and on and on.
Mitsubishi made the planes that bombed us in pearl habor now our kids buy there cars WTF.
I say to HELL with Japan if they thought they could beat us in a war you better beleave they would do it.They havent changed at all just look to there past.
Ok Im done now.
