Post got laid off today

Because of the horrible events of last week and the lack of customers coming to vegas I'm forced to look for another job... First it was only gonna be for a week or two but now it's indefinate. Only problem is that Vegas is one place where you dont wanna be looking for a job at this time. Oh well, life goes on.....wish me luck

Ouch, I know how you feel. I was recently laid off and have now moved to bigger and better. I have to say that being laid off was the best thing that has happened to me lately. Look for the silver lining!!! I didn't think it was there at first, but keep looking and good luck!!

Things will get better soon. I'm off supposedly for a week, stretched to 2, and I'll find out soon if it goes to 3. I won't be worried about my own situation til they say 6 mos. Hang in there, it'll come back. Best of luck.

It is looking like I will get laid off on 10/04. I work on wings for the Boeing 717 at a facility of BAE SYSTEMS. Our delivery rate was cut heavily this last week, from 4 per month to 1 per month by December. Funny thing about that, there was an article in the local paper today whereby a company exec said there will be no changes. Needless to say the paper will be hearing from me and several others that are being "changed" out the door.

I got laid off on March 2nd and am still looking. I took one job in May because I had to have a pay check and it lasted 6 weeks before it became obvious it wasn't going to work out. I've been helping out a friend at his shop while he looks for a new auto tech. He's found one, so I'll be looking again soon. At least he's letting me stay on part time. There just isn't much engineering opportunity right now.

You know its bad when you call the unemployment office to file and their call load is so high that they won't accept your call......tried all day today and couldn't get through. This is getting bad here, Everybody is scared for their job that works on the strip.
