| My '06 leaked oil from 100 miles until 36,000 at which point ford bought it back. That motor was a disaster.
I owned it three years to the day. Dropped it off at the dealer on the last day of the warranty and took home a '09 6.4. for the remainder of my loan.
There is no way I'd own a 6.0l without getting a screaming deal on it and prepared to spend some money when (not if) it develops problems.
If you chip it you will need head studs for sure.
Your best bet is to find a clean 7.3...then a 6.4 or hold out for the 6.7 next year. I'd kill to have my '02 7.3 back. Id have a great, reliable truck, and about 60K$ more to my name. |
