| All Ford at Woodburn rocks.
It will definately be on my calander for next year. Jeff, Dawn, Lindsey, Harley and I had a great time. The weather was great, didnt realize the sun burn until I started the trip home. Had a good Baro but Jeff and I didnt race per say(later on that), we did the shownshine this time. The plan though was to take both of Jeff's trucks, do the shownshine for the Gen1 and and shake out a few tunes on the Gen 2. The plan didnt come together because, well lets just say guys are terrible communicators. I was suppose to be at his house at 0400hrs and didnt get the message until 0530. Plus I was at a wedding on Sat. night when he called my phone started vibrating just as the groom said "I do", I didnt think it would of went over well if I would of picked the phone up and said Hello and started talking about lightnings. Anyway we met up at Woodburn and we both showed our Lightnings, watched Derick, Rick shake out their Harleys, and saw Debbie and Mike racing too. Damon was there too but didnt race his lightning but he found a great place to park his lightning. "Will the person that owns a black lightning with Tenn. plates please move their truck". Derick got into the third round which was some great first time luck. Rick's truck was a monster knocking down some crazy fast ETs. Looks like Alex has got to find some more hp to be competitive with the mighty kenne bell harley truck.
The shownshine was crazy, Seen so many high dollar early year finely restored fords, shoulda brought the camera, but maybe Dawn will post some pics.
The cap of the day was Jeff beating me for best Lightning in the shownshine. His Gen1 was immaculately prepared, I didn't stand a chance against him, plus he wouldnt lend me any of his detail sh!t either. I found an old t-shirt behind the seat and got a bottle of mequires speed shine in the entry diddy bag and that was the extent of my cleanup job. I got my own back when I destroyed him at the line when we took our complimentary pass down the 1320. That was a highlight for me was the no-names from the shownshine lined up against each other with street tires, no helmets and all and clicked off a 12.58 and a 12.70 at 109 and 110 mph(1.94/1.96 short times) to finish off the day. On the return road the people were going crazy, This guy stopped Jeff wanting all the details of his truck, never saw anything like that before. It was a great day, the ride home was long with some traffic to contend with plus we were dog tired. The trucks drove and looked good, got us back which neither one of us tards thought about throwing our spare tire in. I did have a pair of unmounted F1's in the bed though. Another thing, those guys down there know how to prep a track.
