First date for the CCCA series is April 11th. Emailed the Ford drag team captain (Kent Magruder) to get some info about the whole deal. Here's his reply:
Scott, basically the vehicle must be street legal. If anyone is running an aftermarket S/C they will need a fire jacket (about $50). but that is the only thing that I can think of that might trip someone up. Lightening trucks? Very cool. The best way to sign up is on race day at the CCCA booth so that you can get your CCCA number for the season. Are you wanting to race with the Ford Drag Team? If so, WELCOME! One thing for you and your fellow Lightning owners to remember, there is no obligation to make every race. Only the races that you want to show up for.

Called the "kid" to ask for a bit of help (back issues you know) getting the blower off the Gen 2 to check the intercooler and for a plug change. Then the usual coolant change, fresh oil and filter, ATF and new trans filter, check the underneath and be prepped for 4/11...
