Sounds like "piston slap" to me. "

I know the guy that put that motor together and he is a master mechanic so the motor has got to be bad, right? Interesting visit on Friday to discuss my options regarding repair, replacement, etc..... at the local Ford dealership that installed the timing gear. Not done yet, but will probably take it to another shop to verify that the right bank cams are off a tooth causing the valves to contact the pistons. I expect to find bent valves among other things. So what does it sound like to you guys?
Question: The dealership has claimed no responsibility for incorrect assembly because it is a "hybrid motor" (ie 2.5L/3.0L). I owe $800+ (reduced from $1,200+) for the work that was done; almost all labor. For you guys that have had experience with this sort of thing, how would you handle it with the dealership?
