State Capital Dragway isn't far from Baton Rouge. That's your best bet. Street racing is bad.
If you just want to check out the car and truck scene, go to Miss Goldies on Saturday night, it used to get loaded with hot rods when I lived down there (7 months ago).

www.sccola.org That's a can enthusiast group there in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. they can tell you all the good stuff you're looking for, just watch out for a couple of the 'my **** doesn't stink' people.
