Sounds like your just what this club needed... Good work! As for the local club stuff I cant speak for the other's but I know that there's nothing really official about SOLO other than people chatting and occasionally getting together from the area... However I will be willing to help you out with anything you may require...
Suggestion, I think the NLOC needs to have a large meet once a year preferably with a little racing evolved... I know that the 454 SS club and the Syclone and Typhoon club both seem to do this with great success! I think several of us would like to get together more than once a year at the WFC (I know I would!)
