True we are all 16 at heart and believe me when I was 16 I made the same argument to my parents to have the coolest car around and thankfully they refused. Consenquently I ended up destroying 3 of their cars before I started to figure it out. When I was 17 I saved up enough money to buy my own car, a 67 mustang w/ a 302 2 barrel w/ a 3speed stick. This was no speed demon by far but I still managed to do a Dukes of Hazzard jump that resulted in ripping the subframe from the body(which I had fixed) and to top it off I totalled it being a jack *** on an icy road. This only the beginning of my stories. If I had something w/ the power of my Lightning at that age I surly would be dead. I can still remember when I was 16 telling my parents how responsible I was and me believeing that I was. Not to say that everyone is the same and maybe you guys are ready, just be carefull. What scares me the most is that you want to know what kind of top end this truck has and how long you can do a burn out. That lets me know that you definately are not ready for this kind of power. I take a lot of experience for someone to control a vehicle of this power level let alone one that weighs 4700 lbs. You would probly be better off with a Corvette. I'm not trying to chew you out dude I just don't want you to wind up dead. I'm 29 now and still make stupid moves now and then but not as bad as the ones I did 10 years ago. |
