...the Expy center console. This probably will be one of the "longer" ongoing threads ! Got started last night and did a little more tonight. Pics are worth WAY more than just text....
Passenger side seat is out and this is the area for the front mount for the console.
Front mount. The mount uses one of the seat hold downs
Line up the drivers side hole in the mount to the seat bolt hole...
Outline the mount on the carpet (I used a Sharpie felt tip) and cut...
Ford thoughtfully provided the "other" hole needed for both the front and rear mounts for the console. A rubber plug is installed in both the front and rear passenger side holes. Remove the plug and tap the insert in the floorpan. 12 MM X 1.75 for the rear, 10 MM X 1.50 for the front. Pictured is the rear mount.
Front and rear mounts installed waiting for the console !
"Skeleton" installed on the mounts.
Skeleton you ask ? It's the frame for the center console that all the console panels attach to. Here's the top, bottom, and side view in case your interested.
A couple of "little detail" items I've noticed from lots of reading and viewing a few consoles installed in other trucks. The front of the skeleton will show slightly after both side panels are installed on it. The drivers side will hit the plastic cover for the center floor heat register on the drivers side. Just a little trimming at the front of the skeleton will resolve both issues.

Drivers side...
"Spare parts" so far. 4 seat bolts, 1 seat belt bolt, and half the center seat belt.
Oh yeah, one other "spare part". 'Course this spare part does get used after it's modified a bit.
