It seems every valve guide is BAD. I went there today to the machine shop to see it for my self. Even a 10 year old could see something was wrong, He had all the INTAKE valves out all were super SLOPPY and about 4 were REAL bad , I mean I can't believe the valve even seated properly. 3 valve guide seals were off the guide and were just going up and down with the valve. We pulled a couple Exhaust and they were loose too. Try to imagine .028 clearance, that's a spark plug gap. I was told that I was lucky I didn't drop a head from a valve. I thought the plugs looked a bit funny, I stated Tan center electrode with a dark brown casing.. I thought it was rich but that was oil burning. I had added some oil but with the valve cover leak it was hard to tell where I was loosing it. AFR told me then needed the head to determine if the supplier of the Guides screwed up. They are not OBLONG which would relate to improper valve train geomertry. did the steeda's 1.72RR
do this, I think not. I just wish someone could have seen these, it was unbelievable. I hope AFR does the right thing here. Thats what you get for taking heads right out of the BOX and bolting them on your motor. Carman wanted to pop some valves out and inspect or chamfer anything that need attention!! but I just couldn't wait and put them on. Who knows maybe there are more heads like mine floating around
