I have a 1994 lightning that is getting rebuilt, my mecahnic told me that one of the last of the missing pieces is a speed sensor . but that he needed it to be oem motorcraft. I have called several dealerships with no luck. does anybody know where I can get a hold of one or if someone has one laying around and doesn't need it and is willing to part ways with it please let me know. thank you

I wonder why it has to be OEM? Even the Motorcraft design/part is no longer the same as the piece that came in the truck.

to be honest I have no idea. but it already has one from O'Reilly and mechanic told me it has no signal due to it no being from factory. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

That's not necessarily because of the brand of the sensor, and like Jeff says, event the Motorcraft ones are just generic made in Mexico/China/wherever units now. I will say the sensor and it's operation can be finicky in some trucks (BTW this isn't a Lightning specific item). When one is being problematic it might be a good idea to remove the rear cover and check the tone ring for damage and the air gap between the sensor and the tone ring. If that's all good then it sounds like a wiring problem. There's a 2 wire test port up at the driver's side front fender near the firewall.

Ask you mechanic if they've done any of the mentioned testing.
